I've been using PayPal for online payments and freelance work, and recently I've seen a lot of stories about accounts getting permanently limited without much warning.

I'd like to avoid running into that situation, especially since I plan to use PayPal for the long term.

For those of you who've been using PayPal successfully for several years:

  • What habits or best practices have helped you avoid limitations?
  • Are there common mistakes that new users should avoid?
  • Does verifying your account and keeping your information up to date make a significant difference?
  • Have you ever had to deal with a temporary limitation, and if so, how did you resolve it?
I'm not looking for ways to bypass PayPal's rules just practical advice on how to use the platform responsibly and reduce the chances of account issues.

I'd appreciate hearing about your real experiences and any tips you've learned over the years.

I've used PayPal for over six years without any major issues. My advice is to verify your account, use your real information, and avoid anything that looks suspicious.

Keep your account details updated. If you change your phone number, address, or bank account, update PayPal as soon as possible.
