Amazon Associates is still my starting point for most niche sites. The commissions aren't huge, but conversions are hard to beat.

My advice is not to rush the sale. Spend a little time understanding what similar food websites are selling for so you don't undervalue your work.

I completely agree about paid surveys. I spent way too much time on them and barely earned enough to justify the effort.
