I’ve noticed a pretty significant increase in CPM on my Meta ad campaigns recently. The campaigns themselves haven’t changed much, but the cost has gone up noticeably while the overall performance seems to be weaker than before.

I’m trying to figure out whether this is a broader trend affecting other advertisers or if there’s something specific in my campaign setup that I may have overlooked.

Has anyone else experienced a similar CPM increase lately? What changes, if any, helped bring the costs back under control?

This can happen even when you haven’t changed anything. Meta’s auction conditions can change because of advertiser competition, audience availability, seasonality, and engagement. I usually compare CPM, CTR, CPC, frequency, and conversion rate together before deciding whether CPM itself is the actual problem.

Yes, I’ve noticed something similar. CPM has gone up on a few campaigns even though the targeting and budget stayed almost the same. In my case, refreshing the creatives helped more than changing the audience.

I went through something similar recently. Instead of creating a completely new campaign, I added different creative versions. That was enough to improve the performance.

Have you checked your audience size? A very narrow audience can sometimes make impressions more expensive.

I’ve noticed the same pattern on some campaigns. At first I assumed something had gone wrong with the setup because the CPM increased while performance declined. After looking deeper, I found that several metrics had changed together. Frequency was higher, CTR was lower, and the same creative had been running for quite a while. I tested new creative concepts and a broader audience while keeping the original campaign as a comparison. That made it much easier to determine whether the issue was campaign-specific or part of a wider auction change.

This is a refreshing post. No unrealistic promises, just someone willing to put in the work and share the results. Respect.

Yes, I’ve noticed the same thing recently. CPM has gone up on some of my campaigns even though I didn’t make major changes.

oops

Something similar happened to one of my campaigns. The settings looked almost exactly the same, but results became weaker over time. After reviewing the numbers, I noticed frequency had increased and CTR had declined. I introduced several new creative angles instead of simply changing the targeting. That made a bigger difference than expected. Sometimes the campaign structure is fine and the audience just needs something new to respond to.
