A few people asked me for an update after my previous post, so I thought I'd share what I've learned during the first week.

One thing became clear very quickly: building the website was actually the easiest part. Optimizing and maintaining it has taken much more attention than I expected.

Here are a few improvements I've made since launch:
  • Improved the video import system to better filter duplicate content.
  • Optimized database queries, which noticeably reduced page load times.
  • Expanded the French keyword coverage by improving title translations and category organization.
  • Added internal linking between related videos and categories to help users discover more content.
  • Refined the sitemap generation so newly imported videos are indexed faster.
  • Fixed several small SEO issues that appeared after Google's initial crawl.

What I Learned About AI Development

AI dramatically accelerated the development process, but it wasn't simply a matter of copying and pasting code.

For almost every feature, I found myself:
  • Testing different prompts.
  • Debugging errors.
  • Asking follow-up questions.
  • Refactoring AI-generated code.
  • Combining ideas from multiple conversations.
In many cases, the AI acted more like a senior developer I could brainstorm with than a tool that produced perfect code on the first attempt.

Biggest Surprise

The biggest surprise wasn't the technology it was how much time automation saved afterward.

Instead of manually uploading content every day, the site now:
  • Imports new videos automatically.
  • Updates metadata.
  • Generates SEO files.
  • Refreshes sitemaps.
  • Keeps everything running with scheduled cron jobs.
That allows me to spend more time analyzing traffic, improving SEO, and planning new features instead of handling repetitive tasks.

What's Next

My focus over the coming weeks is on:
  • Improving Core Web Vitals.
  • Increasing organic traffic from French search results.
  • Building higher-quality backlinks.
  • Adding more filtering and search options.
  • Monitoring user engagement to improve retention.
This project has reinforced something I've been thinking about for a while:

AI doesn't replace the need to solve problems it simply removes many of the barriers that used to slow solo builders down.

I'll continue sharing updates as the project grows. If you've built something similar using AI, I'd be interested to hear what worked well for you.

Great progress in such a short time. The automation pipeline sounds like it saved a huge amount of manual work. I'm interested to see how the organic traffic grows over the next few months.

Thanks for sharing the behind-the-scenes process. It's refreshing to read an IM journey that explains both the tools and the lessons learned instead of only posting results.

I like that you mentioned AI still requires testing and debugging. Many people assume it generates perfect code instantly, but real projects always need refinement.

That's an impressive build considering you weren't an experienced developer before starting. It really shows how AI can lower the barrier for creating complex web projects.

The automated content imports combined with SEO optimization seem to be a smart combination. Looking forward to hearing how your rankings develop over time.

Your point about spending less time on repetitive work and more time on strategy really stood out. Automation is valuable when it gives you time to improve the business instead of maintaining it.

Nice update. Have you noticed whether translated titles perform as well as manually written French titles? That would be interesting to compare.

Congratulations on getting everything running in just a few days. Building a complete workflow from frontend to backend is no small achievement.

I appreciate that you shared both the successes and the challenges. That's much more helpful than posts that only focus on impressive numbers.

This is a good reminder that AI is a productivity tool, not a replacement for problem-solving skills. The prompts may generate code, but someone still has to understand and improve it.

Very interesting journey. Which part took the longest to get working correctly—the import system, SEO automation, or the translation process?

Your traffic growth is encouraging, especially considering the site is still very new. It'll be interesting to see how things look after a month of indexing.

I enjoyed reading this update. The fact that you're continuously improving performance instead of leaving the site alone is probably what will make the biggest difference long term.

It's amazing how quickly AI tools have changed website development. Projects that once required a team can now be handled by a single person with enough patience.

Thanks for documenting your process. Posts like this give beginners a realistic expectation of what AI can and can't do.

The automation setup sounds well planned. Keeping fresh content flowing without daily manual uploads is a huge advantage for scaling.

One thing I liked most was your honesty about debugging AI-generated code. That matches my own experience using AI for development projects.

Really solid progress. I'm curious whether you'll eventually expand into other languages or stay focused on the French market first.

Your experience proves that learning while building is often faster than spending months studying before starting. Practical projects teach a lot.
