Hi everyone,
I've been reading the Journey section for quite some time, and I've always enjoyed seeing people share both their successes and failures. Some of the threads here have been really motivating because they show that building an online income isn't always a straight path. After thinking about it for a while, I decided it's finally time to start my own journey thread.
I'm hoping this thread will help keep me accountable, motivate me to stay consistent, and hopefully allow me to learn from members here who have much more experience than I do.
Like many beginners, I made the mistake of chasing every new method that promised fast money. I've tried several different online business models over the years. Some worked for a short time, many didn't work at all, and a few turned out to be complete wastes of time.
There were periods where I completely stopped working online because I got frustrated, and there were other times where I spent weeks learning new skills without making a single dollar.
Despite all of that, I don't regret the experience because every failure taught me something useful.
Looking back over the past four years, I've earned roughly $2,000 online in total.
For some people, that might seem like a very small amount, but where I live, it's actually a significant amount of money. More importantly, it proved to me that making money online isn't impossible. I simply haven't been consistent enough.
That's exactly what I want to change now.
Instead of randomly trying different methods, I want to spend these next few months focusing on one clear objective.
My target is simple:
Reach a stable income of at least $500 per month before college starts.
I'm not expecting to become rich overnight.
I know there will be setbacks, mistakes, and probably plenty of days where nothing seems to work.
But if I can build something that consistently earns around $500 every month, I'll consider this journey a success.
Programming has always been something I enjoy, and over the past couple of years I've spent a lot of time learning how to build automation tools that save time on repetitive tasks.
Instead of doing everything manually, I prefer creating small utilities that make workflows more efficient.
I also already have access to a VPS for the next few months, so my infrastructure costs are already covered.
That gives me enough time to experiment, improve my workflow, and hopefully build something sustainable before I have to focus on college.
In the past, I always had the habit of jumping between different online business ideas whenever I saw someone posting impressive earnings.
That approach never worked for me.
This time I'm choosing one direction and sticking with it.
My plan is to focus on building systems, improving efficiency, tracking results carefully, and making small improvements every week instead of constantly changing strategies.
Rather than looking for shortcuts, I want to create repeatable processes that can continue generating income over time.
I don't only want to post when things are going well.
I'll also share mistakes, unexpected problems, and lessons I learn along the way because I think those updates are often more valuable than posting only successful results.
Hopefully by the end of this journey I'll be able to look back at this first post and see how much progress I've made.
I'm hoping I won't be one of them.
Even if progress is slow, I'll continue updating this thread and stay committed to my goal.
If anyone has advice about staying productive, managing an online business while studying, improving automation workflows, or simply staying consistent, I'd genuinely appreciate hearing your thoughts.
