I’m looking into setting up a small mobile farm with around 20–30 devices, but I’m still trying to figure out the most realistic way to monetize it.

If anyone is already running one, what are you using the devices for, and what kind of returns are you actually seeing after the costs?

With 20–30 devices, I’d focus on legitimate app testing or research tasks rather than expecting big passive income. The returns depend heavily on how many hours the devices are actually useful.

I’ve seen people make decent side income from mobile farms, but the hardware and electricity costs can eat into the numbers quickly. You really need to calculate the net profit.

I’d start with 10 devices first instead of buying 30 immediately. Test the workload, maintenance and actual earnings before expanding.

The biggest cost people forget is device maintenance. Chargers, cables, batteries and replacements add up when you have 20–30 phones running every day.

I’ve used multiple devices for app testing and QA work. It’s not huge money, but it can be more predictable than some of the other mobile-farm ideas.

If you already own the phones, the calculation can look much better. Buying 30 devices specifically for the project makes the break-even point much longer.

If the phones are already available, try using them before buying additional hardware. That will give you a better idea of the practical workload.

There’s no universal monthly return for a 20–30 device farm. The business model matters far more than the number of phones. Pick the legitimate use case first, test it with a small setup, calculate the real net profit, and scale only when the numbers support it.

I’d compare used and refurbished devices carefully. Saving money on hardware can help your ROI, but poor batteries can create a lot of headaches later.

I’d also check the terms of any platform you use. Running the same activity across many devices can violate some services' rules.
