I'm looking for some advice from people who have experience with large email campaigns.

I have a very large email list around 20 million email addresses and I'm trying to understand the best way to send emails to a list of that size.

I know sending everything at once probably isn't the right approach, so I'm curious how people usually handle it.
  • What email platforms are built for lists this large?
  • Do you send emails in smaller batches?
  • Is there any software that makes the process easier?
  • What are some common mistakes to avoid when managing a large email campaign?
I'm still researching the best approach, so I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has worked with high-volume email lists and can share their experience or recommendations.

A list that large sounds impressive, but the first thing I'd ask is whether everyone on it actually opted in to receive emails. If they did, I'd focus on using a professional email service and sending the campaign in smaller batches instead of all at once.

I'd avoid trying to blast millions of emails in one go. Even legitimate senders usually warm up their sending infrastructure and spread campaigns over time to maintain good deliverability.

Before sending anything, I'd clean the list. Removing inactive or invalid addresses can improve deliverability and reduce bounce rates quite a bit.

With a list that size, deliverability is probably a bigger challenge than the actual sending. A good email platform and a healthy sender reputation are essential.

I'd definitely segment the list if possible. Sending relevant content to smaller groups usually performs much better than sending the same email to everyone.

If the list is permission-based, look at enterprise email marketing platforms that are designed for high-volume campaigns. They'll handle scaling much better than standard tools.

One mistake I see people make is skipping list validation. Spending time cleaning the database before launching a campaign can save a lot of problems later.

I'd start with a smaller test campaign first. Check your open rates, click rates, and bounce rates before sending to the entire audience.
