I think the easiest example is a restaurant. The owner has a personal Facebook account, and the restaurant can have a separate Facebook Page. The owner can manage the restaurant Page from their account.
 
They are definitely different. Your personal account is connected to your identity, friends, and personal activity. A Page is more focused on public communication, followers, business promotion, or a brand.
 
Yep, you're on the right track. A Facebook Page is basically an entity that can be managed by one or more Facebook accounts. The people managing it don't have to publicly appear as the Page's owner.
