I've been curious about Bluesky for a while, so I decided to see whether it's possible to grow accounts and eventually earn from the platform.

The past couple of weeks have mostly been spent behind the scenes. Instead of posting, I was building and testing a bot to help warm up new accounts naturally.

After plenty of tweaking, it's finally ready.

Now comes the interesting part.

I'll be using it to grow my Bluesky accounts and document what works, what doesn't, and any lessons I learn along the way.

No big promises just sharing the process as it happens.

Let's see where this journey takes me.
looking forward..

Great idea. There aren't many people documenting their Bluesky journey from the very beginning, so I'll definitely be following this thread. I'm especially interested in how the account warm-up affects long-term engagement.

Interesting experiment. I've been thinking about Bluesky too but haven't taken the plunge yet.
Thanks! That's actually one of the reasons I started this experiment. There isn't a lot of long-term information available yet, so I figured I'd test it myself and document everything. Hopefully my experience makes it easier for others who are still on the fence.
Good luck! Real-world case studies are always more useful than theory.
I really appreciate the encouragement! I agree completely real case studies usually provide much more value than theoretical advice. I'll make sure to share honest updates, whether the results are good or bad.
Thanks for sharing the journey instead of just the end results.
Thank you! I think people learn more from seeing the entire journey rather than only the final outcome. I'll continue posting updates from the beginning so everyone can see what works, what fails, and what changes I make along the way.
Hope you'll share both the successes and the setbacks. Those are usually the best lessons.
Absolutely! I don't want this to be one of those threads that only shares wins. The mistakes, slow periods, and unexpected problems are often where the biggest lessons come from. I'll be as transparent as possible throughout the experiment.
Nice! I'm especially curious about whether account age affects growth there.
That's a great question. I don't know yet whether account age plays a significant role, but it's definitely something I'll keep an eye on as I collect more data. If I notice any clear patterns, I'll include them in my updates.
Looking forward to seeing your first month of data and observations.
Thanks! My goal is to put together a detailed first-month report covering follower growth, engagement, posting frequency, and anything else that stands out. Hopefully it provides useful insights instead of just numbers.
Keep us posted on follower growth and engagement rates. That'll be valuable.
Definitely! I'll be tracking follower growth, engagement rates, impressions, and how different posting styles perform. Having measurable data should make the updates much more useful than simply sharing opinions.
I've heard mixed opinions about Bluesky, so this should be interesting.
Thanks! I've heard mixed opinions too, which is exactly why I wanted to test it for myself instead of relying on other people's experiences. Hopefully the results will answer some of those questions over the coming weeks.
Good luck! Hopefully the platform still has plenty of organic reach.
Thank you! I'm hoping there's still enough organic reach for smaller creators to grow without relying heavily on paid promotion. That's one of the main things I'll be paying attention to during this experiment.
I'd love to know what kind of content performs best once you start posting.
That's on my list as well. I'll be testing different types of content to see what attracts the most engagement and followers. If I discover any clear trends or patterns, I'll make sure to share them with everyone here.
The setup is often the hardest part. Now the real testing begins.
You're absolutely right! Building and refining everything behind the scenes took much longer than expected, but now comes the exciting part actually testing everything in a live environment. I'm looking forward to seeing what the real-world results look like.
Definitely interested in your findings. There's still not much information out there.
Thanks! That's exactly what motivated me to start sharing this journey. There isn't much practical information available yet, so hopefully these updates will help fill that gap and give others something useful to learn from.
I'll be watching this thread. Always enjoy following build-in-public journeys.
Thanks so much! I really enjoy following build-in-public projects too, and they've taught me a lot over the years. That's one of the reasons I decided to document this experiment from day one instead of waiting until I had big results. Hopefully the updates stay useful, honest, and maybe even encourage others to run their own experiments as well.

Thanks for sharing the process instead of just posting screenshots of success. The behind-the-scenes work is usually the most valuable part because that's what people rarely talk about.

Looking forward to your updates. It would be really helpful if you could share follower growth, engagement rates, and what types of posts perform best as the accounts mature.

I've been wondering whether Bluesky still offers decent organic reach compared to X and Threads. Your experiment should provide some real-world insight.

Nice project. I think documenting both the wins and the failures will make this thread much more valuable than simply posting successful results.

I'm curious about your warm-up strategy. Are you focusing on follows, replies, likes, or just maintaining consistent activity? It would be interesting to know what seems to move the needle.

This is exactly the kind of thread I enjoy reading. Real experiments with regular updates are far more useful than theoretical discussions.

Best of luck with the project. If Bluesky continues to grow, getting in early could end up being a smart decision.

I'll be following along. There's still very little practical information available about growing Bluesky accounts, so your updates could help a lot of people.

It's refreshing to see someone take the time to build the proper foundation before trying to scale. Too many people rush straight into posting without preparing their accounts.

I like that you're keeping expectations realistic. Every platform behaves differently, and it'll be interesting to see what actually works on Bluesky.

Looking forward to seeing whether automation helps with account health or if manual engagement still outperforms it over time.
