I once promoted a high-ticket product because the commission looked amazing. The problem was that my audience wasn't ready to spend that much money. I eventually switched to a lower-priced product that solved a more immediate problem. The commission was smaller, but I started seeing more consistent sales.

I'd look at EPC as well as the headline commission. A program paying $100 doesn't automatically have better economics if its conversion rate and earnings per click are poor.

Another thing I'd check is the cookie duration. A good product isn't much help if the tracking terms are poor.
Good point. Cookie duration and tracking rules can affect earnings, so it's worth reading the terms carefully before promoting anything.
If I'm creating SEO content, I'd rather promote a product that naturally fits the search intent. Someone searching for "best SEO reporting tool" is already much closer to an affiliate conversion than someone reading a completely unrelated article.
Exactly. Matching the offer to the search intent makes a big difference. Someone actively looking for a specific tool is more likely to consider a relevant recommendation.
