Back in 2023, I wrote a simple comparison article between two email marketing tools I had personally used. The post compared ConvertKit vs. MailerLite and shared my honest experience with both. I wasn't trying to sell I was trying to help people make the right choice. That turned out to be the reason it performed so well.:D

Why It Worked

  • People searching comparison keywords are usually ready to buy, making them ideal for affiliate content.
  • Instead of saying "both are great," I gave a clear recommendation based on different user needs.
  • Since both products had affiliate programs, readers could choose the one that suited them and I could earn either way.

The Results

The article eventually reached Google's first page, bringing in consistent traffic every month. Without updating it regularly, it has generated over $2,800 in affiliate commissions and continues to earn passively.

Biggest Lesson:giggle:

One well-researched comparison or review article can outperform dozens of general blog posts. Focus on helping people make buying decisions with honest, experience-based content, and the affiliate income often follows naturally.

This is exactly why I love comparison articles. The reader is already looking for a solution, so you're helping instead of convincing.

I wrote a "Tool A vs Tool B" article last year, and it still brings in affiliate commissions every month. Definitely one of my best-performing posts.

I wish more affiliate marketers focused on helping people instead of pushing the highest commission products.

This is why search intent matters so much. Someone searching comparisons is usually much closer to buying than someone reading general information.
