Over the past few weeks, Instagram DMs have been generating a lot more inbound interest for us, but we’re running into a problem on the account-management side.

The volume has reached a point where we’re getting 200+ active conversations a day, and it’s becoming difficult to keep up with everything while maintaining the accounts properly. The sales funnel itself is already optimized, so the main issue is handling and routing the incoming DM volume without overwhelming the accounts.

Has anyone dealt with a similar situation? I’m mainly looking for ideas around managing or distributing high-volume Instagram DM traffic more effectively.

Would appreciate any practical suggestions or experiences.

We had a similar issue once the DMs crossed a certain volume. What helped most was separating initial replies from actual sales conversations. That way, every message didn’t need manual attention immediately.

I remember when our inbound DMs suddenly started taking off. At first, everyone was excited because more messages meant more potential customers. A few weeks later, though, the team was spending the whole day jumping between conversations. What helped us was creating a simple priority system so we knew which conversations needed immediate attention and which could wait.

200+ conversations a day is definitely where things start getting messy. I’d look at the routing process before trying to change the funnel. Even simple tagging and assigning conversations can make a huge difference.
