The End Goal​

The business model is simple: display advertising.
If I can eventually join a premium ad network and maintain an average RPM of around $20, reaching roughly five million monthly visitors would put the site close to $100,000 in monthly revenue.
That's obviously a huge number, but the market is large enough to support it. One of the biggest websites in this space already attracts well over one million visitors every month, so I know the demand exists. My objective is to build something that can eventually outperform the current leaders.

Why I'm Starting Over​

Like many SEO site owners, I built several niche websites over the years.
Unfortunately, the recent Google updates have taken a serious toll on that portfolio. Instead of giving up on SEO, I've decided to rethink the strategy completely.
I don't believe SEO is dead.
I believe the old way of building small content sites is becoming far less effective, while websites that provide real utility are becoming increasingly valuable.

The New Project​

The website I'm building is centered around a practical online tool rather than a traditional blog.
I'll keep the exact niche private for obvious reasons, but it's a category with significant search demand and plenty of room for growth.
The focus is on creating the highest-quality resource available.
That means:

• Excellent on-page SEO
• Fast loading speeds
• Great user experience
• Helpful supporting content
• Clean internal linking
• Scalable site architecture

Every important page is accessible within two clicks from the homepage, making navigation easy for both users and search engines. As the website expands, that may naturally increase to three clicks, but simplicity will remain a priority.

Link Building Strategy​

I'm taking a different approach to backlinks.
Instead of chasing hundreds of average links, I want fewer—but much stronger—ones.
The plan is to focus on:

• High-quality guest posts
• Digital PR opportunities
• HARO-style outreach
• Original statistics and data
• Shareable infographics
• Link-worthy resources

Many established competitors have enormous backlink profiles, but much of their authority comes from smaller websites.
Very few have earned links from the biggest names within the industry.
That's where I think there's an opportunity.

Keyword Research​

I'm not spending much time with keyword tools.
In this niche, covering the topic comprehensively is more valuable than obsessing over search volume.
My strategy is straightforward:
Build every page users are likely to need and create the most complete resource available.

The Bigger Picture​

Google has changed dramatically over the past few years.
Search results increasingly favor:

• User-generated content
• Large authority brands
• Interactive tools
• Functional websites
• AI-powered search experiences

Traditional niche blogs are finding it much harder to compete.
Rather than fighting those trends, I'd rather build something that aligns with where search appears to be heading.
A useful website that solves problems has a much better chance of surviving future algorithm updates.

Progress So Far​

Development began recently after preparing a portion of the site before launch.
At the moment, roughly one-fifth of the planned pages are complete, and the goal is to finish the entire website within the next few months.
As soon as the site went live, I submitted pages for indexing through Google Search Console.
Within only a few days, organic traffic started appearing.
DurIng the first week, the site generated just over 50 clicks and more than 1,400 impressions from Google, which was an encouraging start for a brand-new domain.
For privacy reasons, I won't be sharing screenshots that reveal the exact launch date or niche.

What's Next​

Before the next update, I want to:

• Expand the site to around 40% completion.
• Secure several high-authority backlinks.
• Continue improving technical SEO.
• Grow organic traffic steadily.

This won't be a daily or even weekly journal.
I'll share meaningful milestones, lessons learned, traffic growth, and financial updates as the project progresses.
The journey is just beginning, but the goal remains the same:

Build the best website in the niche, earn top search rankings, and create a long-term business capable of generating six figures per month through display advertising.
