I’m helping a friend sell a website he has owned and maintained for around 5 years. I may receive a small commission if the sale goes through.
The site is focused on second citizenship, second passports, residency programs, Golden Visas, and privacy-related topics. It has been built organically over the years, with strong SEO and backlinks/citations from well-known sources such as Forbes, Entrepreneur, and others.
The site is very low-maintenance and costs less than $200/year to operate. It currently generates around $12,000/year on average through referrals to service providers.
The main issue is that it’s essentially a hobby site rather than a formal business, so selling it through some of the major marketplaces may be difficult. The revenue is also received through his personal PayPal account, which makes providing clean business financial records more complicated.
I’d love to get some advice from people who have bought or sold websites before:
1. Where would you recommend listing a site like this without an overly complicated verification process?
