Everyone used to call TikTok Ads the "cheap Facebook Ads." In 2026, that's still partly true but things have changed.
The Good News
- TikTok CPMs are still cheaper.
- I'm seeing $4–8 CPM on TikTok vs $12–20 CPM on Facebook.
- You get more reach for the same budget.
TikTok users scroll past anything that looks like an ad.
Professional editing, logos, and polished voiceovers often perform worse than simple, authentic videos.
What's Working for Me
I sell a fitness product.
My best-performing ad is just 18 seconds:
- No music
- No text
- No fancy editing
- Just me showing the product naturally
- Simple video: 3.8% conversion rate
- Produced ad: 0.7% conversion rate
Don't make ads.
Make TikToks that naturally feature your product.
Content that feels real almost always beats content that feels like a commercial.
My Verdict
If your product has a strong visual appeal, TikTok Ads are still worth testing in 2026.
If your product is difficult to demonstrate or your content feels overly polished, expect weaker results.
Question: Have TikTok Ads worked for you this year, or are you getting better results from Facebook, Google, or another platform?
