It's been a little over seven weeks since I shared my plan to build a website portfolio targeting $5,000 per month in revenue through multiple income sources.

I've been thinking more about how to approach this experiment, and one thing is becoming clear: building multiple income streams takes more than simply publishing content and waiting for traffic.

My current focus is on understanding what works best for each website rather than applying the same strategy everywhere.

Here are a few areas I'm concentrating on:

1. Content and SEO Improvements

I'm looking at existing content, identifying opportunities to improve older articles, and exploring topics that have genuine search potential. I want to focus on content that can attract relevant visitors rather than chasing traffic numbers alone.

2. Exploring Different Monetization Methods

Affiliate marketing is still part of the plan, but I don't want every website to depend on it. I'm also exploring display advertising, sponsored content, and digital products as additional revenue opportunities.

3. Understanding Traffic Sources

Organic search is important, but I'm also interested in finding other ways to bring visitors to these websites. Relying entirely on one traffic source can be risky in the long run.

4. Tracking Performance

I'm keeping an eye on traffic, keyword rankings, affiliate clicks, conversions, expenses, and overall revenue. These numbers should help me understand which strategies deserve more attention.

I know it's still early, and I don't expect every experiment to produce positive results. The main objective right now is to learn, test different approaches, and gradually build a more sustainable website portfolio.

My original target remains $5,000 per month in total revenue.

I'll continue sharing updates, including what works, what doesn't, and any interesting lessons along the way.

For those who manage multiple niche websites, what's one monetization method you've found worth exploring beyond traditional affiliate marketing?
