When I started my side hustle journey, I had one big mistake in my mindset.

I wanted results too quickly.

I kept looking for methods that could make money fast instead of spending enough time building something properly.

Whenever something didn't work, I jumped to another idea.

New niche.

New platform.

New strategy.

New project.

And after a while, I realized I wasn't really building anything. I was just constantly starting over.

So I decided to change my approach.

Instead of asking:

"How can I make money quickly?"

I started asking:

"What can I build today that could still be useful six months from now?"

That small change made a big difference.

I started focusing more on learning useful skills, improving my content, understanding SEO, experimenting with different traffic sources, and actually tracking what worked instead of randomly trying everything.

I'm still far from where I want to be.

There are still slow days.

There are still projects that don't work.

And honestly, I still get tempted by "easy money" opportunities sometimes.

But now I'm trying to play the long game.

My current goal isn't to make some crazy amount overnight.

It's to build something that grows slowly and consistently.

One skill → one project → one lesson → one improvement at a time.

I'll continue sharing the good and bad parts of the journey here, including the mistakes, experiments, income, and lessons.

For anyone else on their IM journey:

What's one thing you stopped doing after realizing it wasn't helping your progress?

This is something I can relate to. I used to jump between different side hustles whenever I didn't see results quickly. Eventually I realized the problem wasn't always the method. Sometimes I simply wasn't giving one thing enough time to work.

The question about what can still be useful six months from now really hit me. I've started thinking more about building assets instead of chasing quick wins. Even small progress feels better when I know it's actually moving something forward.

I stopped constantly changing niches. Every time I saw someone making money in another niche, I thought I was missing out. Now I prefer to stay with one topic longer and learn from the mistakes instead of starting from zero again.

My biggest change was stopping the habit of checking income every single day. It made me impatient and caused me to make stupid decisions. Now I look at progress over weeks and months instead of expecting results every day.

I stopped buying every new course that promised a shortcut. 😅 There is always another “secret method” being promoted. Most of the time, I already had enough information. What I was missing was actually implementing what I had learned.
