Hi everyone,

It’s been about a month since I posted about looking for reliable payment solutions for my iGaming project, so I wanted to share a quick update.

I’ve spent some time researching different options across Southeast Asia, and one thing I’ve realized is that finding a payment partner isn’t simply about fees or transaction speed. Reliability, licensing, compliance, settlement procedures, reputation, and the provider’s experience with the relevant market all matter.

I’m now taking a more careful approach and comparing potential providers based on things like:
  • Regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Supported countries and currencies
  • Settlement terms and processing times
  • Transparency of fees
  • Business verification requirements
  • Reputation and track record
  • Quality of customer support
I’m still researching rather than rushing into a partnership.

For those who have experience working with legitimate, compliant payment providers in Southeast Asia, what factors would you recommend checking before choosing one?

Any general lessons or due-diligence advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I learned pretty quickly that the cheapest payment provider isn’t always the best option. We once looked at a provider with attractive fees, but after checking the settlement terms and support process, it didn’t look nearly as good. Your approach of comparing everything upfront makes a lot of sense.

One thing I’d definitely add is how they handle disputes and unexpected account reviews. A provider can look great during onboarding, but the real test is what happens when there’s a problem. I’d ask about their escalation process before signing anything.
