I compare traffic sources based on ROI instead of CPC. That gives a much clearer picture.

I've stopped chasing the lowest CPC because it usually backfires. Instead, I look at cost per conversion. I've had campaigns with higher CPCs that made far more profit than the cheap traffic sources I tested. Sometimes paying a little more for better visitors is worth it.

I had the same experience with a few low-cost ad networks. The clicks looked great on paper, but the bounce rate was terrible and hardly anyone converted. Since then, I only test new platforms with a small budget before putting in any serious money.

One thing that helped me was improving my landing page instead of switching traffic sources. After making the page load faster and simplifying the offer, my conversion rate improved enough that I didn't worry as much about CPC anymore.

It really depends on your niche. A traffic source that's profitable for e-commerce might perform terribly for SaaS or lead generation. I'd mention your industry because people can probably give more relevant recommendations.

I've had decent results with Microsoft Ads. The volume isn't as high as Google, but the clicks were cheaper for my keywords and the traffic quality was better than I expected.
